Well I am running a day behind in posting so I will try and catch up. I haven't heard to much from the "troups" so I hope that means that things are going well, or that you are just plain scared. If it is the later don't be... this is a process, not something that happens overnight. In order for long term change to occur slow and steady is the way to get there.
So Thursday breakfast was my usual breakfast scramble and coffee.
I came home to and started my workout which was:
A. Clean Grip DL - 65% 1RM; 10 sets of 3 @ 11X1; rest 60 sec
(speed off floor is goal)
B. Close Grip Bench Press - 3 x 3 @ 80%; rest 90 sec
(moderate effort - explode off chest)
C. Close Grip Bench Press - 3 x 3 @ 90%; rest 3 min
(tough efforts - explode off chest)
D. Muscle Up x 1/Ring Dip x 5 strict; rest 1 min x 5
I got through the part A and into my second set of bench press and was just not feeling it, I felt weak and had no umph so I pulled the pin and stopped. Sometimes it is just better to stop than force yourself through a workout, because a)you might hurt yourself and b)you won't get out of it what is intended. So I listen to my body and hope that the next day I feel better. I think I was quite sore from wednesdays workout still so that was part of it, plus on thursday nights I play competitive ladies volleyball for two hours and I knew that we had to play the top two teams so I guess I wanted to save my energy. I will usually try and catch up the workout the next day by adding it on to whatever I am supposed to do that day - if time permits.
Lunch - more sausage, spinach, onion "stirfry"
I took pork blad steaks out of the freezer a few days ago because they are what is left of the 1/4 pig that we bought back in the summer. I wasn't sure what to do with them so searched the internet and found mostly best just to barbecue them. So that was the plan - however when I got home I discovered that someone had left the burners on so we were out of propane - crap. So I quickly threw them in a baking dish with some onions and chicken stock and threw them in the oven for 45 minutes or so. However I had to get to volleyball and had to eat sooner than that so i scoured the freezer and found some wild garlic salmon filets that i bought at costco. I quickly thawed them in the sink with hot water and tossed them in the toaster oven for 15 minutes they were actually quite delicious and quick. I need to check the ingredients of the sauce because I am sure it must have had sugar in it because it was way too good! I had made garlic cauliflower mash at lunch time so I had that with the salmon.
My husband at the pork steak and said they were dry - they looked it! This is where I would love to have that sous vide I spoke about. Then I would have vacuum sealed it with seasoning in the morning and just tossed it in there and it would have been perfect. It slow cooks things like in a crock pot but seals in all the juices. I know I will get one whether he likes it or not...I am sure he will thank me later when dinner is always ready and tastes super yummy.
Volleyball was great and we beat the number two team so that was fun!!

OK supper was Greek Scallops from the Crossfit Centurion website, VERY yummy & Braised cabbage that I made last night.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember where we got our pork from but I will check into the TK ranch stuff because I think it is good and maybe we could do a group order and they'll deliver.
